HyWorks VM Scale Booster Installation In Maintenance Mode

Reinstall

Re-running the same setup of HyWorks VM Scale Booster can be used to reinstall the HyWorks VM Scale Booster. Reinstallation can be done to achieve the following purpose:

• Reconfiguring the Consumer configuration(s) (e.g., Consumer Hostnames, Port, SSL Configuration, Username, Password).

Follow the steps below to reinstall Accops HyWorks VM Scale Booster:

1. Navigate to the directory where the Accops HyWorks VM Scale Booster is downloaded.

2. Double-click on the setup file to invoke the installer.

3. Click “Next” on the Welcome screen.

4. Click I Agree on the License Agreement screen to proceed.

5. Click Next on the Choose Components screen.

6. On the MQ Configuration screen, provide appropriate details for:

   1. Consumer Hostname(s): If having more than one, then provide comma-separated consumer hostnames.

   2. Port: Message queue port. The default is 5672 for non-SSL and 5671 for SSL.

   3. Enable SSL: Select this checkbox if Message Queue is configured to communicate over SSL.

   4. Username: Username to be used to communicate with the message queue.

   5. Password: Password for the user configured to access the message queue.

7. Click on Install to proceed. Wait for the installation to be completed.

8. Click on Finish to close the HyWorks VM Scale Booster setup wizard.

9. Reinstallation is completed, with the following results:

   1. HyWorks Controller configurations are not overwritten and will remain unchanged.

   2. Consumer Message Queue configurations will be overwritten according to the provided inputs.

10. Verification of new configurations can be done by checking the following configuration files. Examples are given using the default location.

    1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Accops\HyWorks VM Scale Booster\appsettings.json: Check the controller and message queue information here.

Upgrade

Running the setup of a newer version of HyWorks VM Scale Booster can be used to upgrade the setup. The steps are the same as mentioned in the Reinstallation section.

Prerequisite RabbitMQ/ Erlang OTP Upgrade

Upgrading these modules may require a compatible version of dependencies (Erlang OTP/ RabbitMQ installed). Please follow the steps given in the Troubleshooting section if the direct upgrade of RabbitMQ and Erlang OTP does not work.

Uninstall

To uninstall VM Scale Booster, follow the steps below:

1. Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features.

2. Select Accops HyWorks VM Scale Booster from the installed program list and click on Uninstall/Change.

3. Accops HyWorks VM Scale Booster Uninstall wizard will be opened with installation directory information.

4. Click on Uninstall to proceed.

5. Click on Finish to close the uninstall wizard.

   1. Uninstallation is completed, all configurations, files and service should get removed.
