Log Archiving

HyWorks does not archive old logs; instead, it deletes them once the threshold is reached. The threshold for the log is set in Settings > General > Advance Settings.

Change Threshold

By default, HyWorks maintains a maximum of 500,000 records in its log database and deletes logs once the set threshold is reached.

Although maintaining a Syslog server for log archiving is recommended, the threshold can still be adjusted according to your specific requirements.

  1. Log in to the HyWorks Controller Management Console using super administrator credentials.

  2. Go to Settings > General > Advance Settings.

  3. Click Edit in Log Remover Threshold.

  4. Update the value as per your requirement, e.g., 100000.

  5. Click Update.

Logs Management using HyWorks Advance Configuration

  • Log Remover Control: Log Remover Controls allow the removal of logs. The default value is 'True.'

  • Log Remover Threshold: If the threshold is set and log entries exceed the set value, logs will be deleted using the first-in, first-out (FIFO)method. The default value is 500000.

  • Log Remover Interval: The Log Remover Interval deletes logs after the specified period has elapsed. The default and minimum value is 3600 seconds (1 hour).

  • The configurations, as mentioned earlier, are available in Controller.

Log Forwarding to External Syslog Server

Additionally, HyWorks can be configured to forward logs to an external Syslog server for archiving logs. Refer to the Syslog server configuration process for details.
