Dashboard

The dashboard section is used to display the summary of HyWorks Controller configurations with the following details of the currently selected organization:

The dashboard can be monitored on HyWorks Controller Management Console {{ no such element: super_collections.SuperDict object['Dashbaord'] }}

Sessions Details

The dashboard provides the following details about sessions in HyWorks:

  • Total User Sessions Count: The top left section displays the User session count, suggesting the total number of user sessions. Clicking on this section will take you to the User Sessions page.

  • Active User Sessions: Shown as a Pie chart suggesting active vs idle session counts and the percentage of active sessions against the total number of sessions. The same section also displays the total number of desktop and application instances users launch.

    • Application Count: Count the total number of application sessions by user.

    • Desktop count: Count of total number of desktop sessions

Devices Details

The dashboard provides summarized Device details in the dashboard using the following details:

  • Total Devices Count: The total number of Devices (HyDesk/HyWorks clients) currently connected to the HyWorks Controller is displayed as a number, and other details are given in the pie chart.

  • Registered Users Count: The total registered users are shown on the flip of the Device tiles. Users who logged in from (HyDesk/HyLite). The registered users’ count is displayed when the license Entitlement Type is Named User.

  • Active Devices: Pie Chart displaying Active Vs. Idle Devices and the percentage of active Devices against the total number of Devices

    • Count of Offline Devices

    • Count of Idle Devices

    • Count of Devices with alerts (require attention)

Desktop Details

The following summarized information is available for configured desktops:

  • Count of configured Desktop VMs

  • Desktop VMs Pie Chart: Suggesting powered-on vs powered-off desktop VMs and the percentage of powered-on VMs out of total configured Desktop VMs.

    • Count of powered-off VMs

    • Count of suspended VMs

    • Count of VMs with alerts

Controller Details

In the top right corner, the status of controllers is shown as All OK. Other than that, the following information on controllers can be seen on the dashboard:

  • Controller hostname

  • Controller Server IP Address

  • Current CPU, RAM, Hard disk Usage

  • Controller Mode (Secondary/ Primary)

  • Status as Reachable or not reachable

Assigned Apps

This section provides the following details:

  • Pie Chart: Displaying assigned and unassigned applications and the percentage of assigned applications against the total number.

  • Count of Total and Unassigned Applications.

Assigned Pools

Displays the following content:

  • Pie Chart: Displaying assigned and unassigned pools and the percentage of assigned pools out of total pools.

  • % of pool utilization: Suggesting the % of assignments all pools are having.

  • Empty Pool: Showing a count of pools not having Desktops.

Licenses Details

The following licensing details are available on the dashboard:

  • Total number of licenses: Displaying the total number of licenses available in the organization.

  • License Usage Pie Chart: Providing details of used and available licenses in the current organization and the percentage of used licenses out of total licenses.

    • License Type: Evaluation, Perpetual or Default

    • Number of days to expire

Authentication Server

Displaying the status of the authentication server with the following details:

  • The server address (IP or hostname as configured) of the Authentication server

  • Type of authentication server: Primary or Secondary

  • Reachability of Authentication server

  • Is Active: Yes/ No

Connectors (Dedicated Session Providers)

Displaying information of all configured dedicated session providers, with the following details shown for each session provider:

  • Type of session Provider

  • Name, Address, Desktop Count, and Reachability of Dedicated Session Providers

Servers (Shared Session Hosts)

The section displays information on Shared Session Hosts configured in this organization with the following details of each session host:

  • TOTAL ACTIVE: The total count of Shared Session Hosts is Active.

  • OK: Shared Session Hosts should be reachable, and its Monitoring service status and Agent status should be responding.

  • NOT OK: Shared Session Hosts are unreachable, or the monitoring service or agent status is not responding. Displaying the names of shared session hosts is NOT OK. Clicking names redirects to the session team page with filtered NOT OK Shared Session Hosts.

Advance Configurations

Advance configurations available on HyWorks Controller Management Console > Settings > General > Advance Settings

  • Show Device Alert Counts On Dashboard: The dashboard's Active Devices section shows the device alert count, which improves dashboard performance.

    • If this setting is set to False, the device alert count will not appear on the dashboard, which will increase dashboard loading performance.
    • If this setting is set to True, then showing the device alert count on the dashboard takes time to load, which impacts dashboard performance.
    • The default value is True.
    • This setting is available in the Controller group.
  • Resource Status Monitor Interval: Resource Status Monitoring Interval. This configuration is used to monitor the following resources:

    • Device status
    • Authentication/Authorization connection status
    • Session Provider connection status
    • User Session Timeouts.
    • The default value is 30 seconds, and the Minimum value is 10 seconds
    • This setting is available in the System group.
  • Auto Page Refresh Time (in milliseconds): This is used for internal auto update/refresh pages. It applies to the following HyWorks Controller Management Console pages:

    • Dashboard
    • Sessions - User Session, App Session, VDI Session
    • Devices
    • Desktop VMs
    • Desktop Pool
    • Authentication
    • Servers
    • Connectors
    • By default, the auto page refresh time is 60000 milliseconds, i.e., 60 seconds.
    • This setting is available in the UI Control. group.
