More Management Options for Registered Users

Following more registered users management actions can be done from Users > Registered Users section.

Deleting Registered Users

Use the steps listed below to delete registered users from HyWorks:

  1. Go to the HyWorks Controller Management Console > Users > Registered Users

  2. Select one or multiple users from the list of users

  3. Click on the Delete User button

  4. Confirm the action. Users should be removed from HyWorks.

Points for User Deletion

  • Deletion of registered user does not delete it's entitlements. And thus, if even if user comes back after deletion, it will get the same virtual desktops and virtual applications from HyWorks.

  • With the Named User License, every registered user consumes one license and by removing users from the User Details screen licenses can be freed.

  • You cannot delete users, who are currently logged-in

  • Registered users do not affect any license usage with device based or concurrent user session-based licenses.

Exporting Registered Users

HyWorks Controller has the option to export all the registered users in the current organization from the Management Console. To export a CSV of all the registered users:

  1. Go to the HyWorks Controller Management Console > Users -> Registered Users

  2. Click on the Export button

  3. Select the Encoding type and columns

  4. Click on Export

  5. A CSV with details of all the registered users should be downloaded

Advance Settings

Automatic Purging of Registered Users

HyWorks removes registered users automatically based on the last login date and time. If user has not logged-in for certain amount of days, the user will be deleted automatically. This is a configurable setting.

  • Go to Settings > General > Advance Settings.

  • Search the setting User Life Span.

  • Set value as per requirement.

    • Default value is 30. Minimum is 30.

  • Save the settings and click Update to push the changes.

  • New configuration should now come into effect.

Important

Hiding User's Group Information

The registered user by default captures and displays, all the groups to which user is member of. But if it has to be restricted following steps can be performed:

  • Go to Settings > General > Advance Settings.

  • Search the setting Hide User Groups.

  • Set value as True to hide the user groups information on Registered User's Details.

    • Default value is false.

  • Save the settings and click Update to push the changes.

  • New configuration should now come into effect.

    • HyWorks Controller logs or registered user's details should not show the groups.
