Administrators of HyWorks

There are two types of Administrators in HyWorks:

  1. Super administrators - Configured during installation.

  2. Designated Administrators - User with a specific role added after installation.

Super-administrators

The installation process of the HyWorks Controller requires super-administrators to be configured. They will have complete access to the HyWorks Controller Management console by default.

Two types of domain administrators can be configured:

  1. Local user: It is specified at the time of installation. A username and password must be specified during the installation. A new user with these credentials will be added to the HyWorks database and will have super administrator access.

  2. Domain group: It is specified at the time of installation. Active Directory group and user credentials of the user who is a member of this group must be specified during the installation. This user of the Active Directory group will have super administrator access.

Role-based access and administration in HyWorks

HyWorks supports delegated administration with access where different screens are controlled using pre-defined roles (administrator, read-only, or custom-defined).

Once the users are configured in HyWorks with appropriate roles, they can use the same login mechanism to access HyWorks using the Management Console.

For detailed information on role-based administrator, refer section on Role-based administration.
