Reserved VMs

Reserved VMs section is available to only for reservation admin users. It lists all the created reserved VMs with the following information:

Power Operations on Reserved VMs

Following power operations are available on reserved VMs:

  1. Desktop is in Power Off State: Following power operation will be enabled:

    1. Power On
  2. Desktop is already in powered On State: Following power operation will be enabled:

    1. Power Off

    2. Shutdown

    3. Restart

    4. Suspend

  3. Desktop is in Suspended State: Following power operation will be enabled:

    1. Resume

To perform any power operation on reserved VM, follow the given below steps:

  1. Select the reserved VM.

  2. Based on its current power state appropriate power operations will be displayed (e.g., Desktop is in Power on State and thus Power Off, Shutdown, Reboot and Suspend buttons will be displayed)

  3. Click button as per required power operations e.g., Suspend.

  4. Click OK on Confirm Action dialog box (if displayed, based on the initiated operation) to continue performing operation.

  5. Power operation will be initiated by HyWorks Controller and will be forwarded to Dedicated Session Provider, meanwhile wait dialog will be displayed:

    1. Please wait until the operation is completed; the dialog will be dismissed automatically. Or

    2. Click OK to dismiss the dialog, the task will be completed, and desktop’s status will be updated automatically.

  6. Power operation will be performed and on refresh will display the updated power state of the reserved VM.

Reserved VMs Management from Desktop VMs Page in HyWorks

Though all the reserved VMs are listed on the Reserved VMs page on HyLabs portal, major management operations can be done on these deployed VMs from HyWorks Management Console as well.

  1. Go to HyWorks Controller Management Console > VDI > VMs.

  2. Search the VMs deployed using reservations using the reservation display name or Id (Pool Display Name is mapped with Reservation Display Name and Reservation Id is used to create Pool Name )

  3. Now all management operations e.g., refreshing desktop agent status, fixing desktop, power operations etc. can be performed.
