-
The user will not be able to log in from the device anymore.
Device Logs
For troubleshooting purposes or for monitoring device activities, the administrator can view, refresh, download, or delete device logs.
Device logs operation can be done only on a single and reachable device, selecting multiple devices will prompt an inappropriate error, and selecting an unreachable device will display an error in the device logs page.
Once device logs are enabled the HyWorks Controller will send the request to the selected device. The device will upload the first chunk of device logs after the first successful heartbeat.
View / Download Device Logs
To view device logs, perform the following steps:
-
Select the registered device from the Device tab.
-
Click Logs.
-
Wait for 1 heartbeat to be exchanged between the controller and device, it can take from 40-120 seconds for logs to be retrieved.
-
The device logs will start appearing on the same window as shown in the Device Logs window. The latest 1000 lines of device logs are displayed.
-
To update or refresh the available logs, the administrator can click the Refresh Device Logs explicitly as the device logs do not get refreshed automatically.
-
To download the logs to a txt file, click the Download Logs.
-
As mentioned earlier once the device log window is opened devices will send the first chunk of logs to HyWorks Controller. HyWorks Controller will keep the logs file in the following directory with the name of the device registration ID:
Device Logs Path:
*C:\Program Files (x86)\Accops\HyWorks Controller\Service\Contents\DeviceLogs*
Every time the device logs are refreshed then the device logs will be updated in the respective folder.
However, if the administrator chooses not to keep device logs, device logs can be deleted using Delete Logs. All the logs being saved on the HyWorks Controller to date will be deleted and fresh log requests will be sent to the device.
Important
Delete Logs operation will delete the entire directory created. under the Device Logs folder for the selected device.
Disable/ Stop Device Logs
The device logs will stop in the Device Logs settings as soon as the administrator closes the Device Logs Settings dialog, however, the old logs which are already downloaded, will re-appear on the Device logs windows on re-opening the Device logs window for the same registered device.
Delete Device
Administrators can delete one or multiple registered devices by selecting Delete from the Action dropdown list or on the Action toolbar.
Impact of deleting device(s):
-
Any running session will be closed, and the selected device(s) will be deleted from the management console.
-
All corresponding data of the deleted device will be deleted including running session information, Desktop assignments, Profile assignments, and configuration changes.
-
If the device is powered on it will get re-registered as a fresh device with all previous settings reset.
-
If the device is in a disconnected state and not reachable then the device will not appear on the management console again.
Device Power Operations
HyWorks Controller Management Console - Devices page provides the options to perform power operations on the selected devices. The following are the possible power operations on the devices:
-
Power On: If the selected device is in a powered-off state, selecting the device and clicking on the Action Toolbar > Power On will turn on the device.
Important
Power-on operation is supported only for the following models, that too with specific BIOS versions.
-
HY3000
-
HY4000
-
-
Shutdown: If the selected device is in a powered-on state, selecting the device and clicking on Action Toolbar > Shutdown will shut down the device (the running session will be closed).
Important
Windows Client machines do not support remote power operations thus reboot, power on or shutdown operations won't work on them though initiating the action on the client will not be prohibited on HyWorks Controller Management Console and will also change its status in the management console, won't have any impact on devices.
-
Reboot: If the selected device is in a powered-on state, selecting the device and clicking on Action > Reboot will reboot the device (the running session will be closed).
