Active Directory / LDAP Integration
HySecure supports authenticating users from an external Active Directory / LDAP Server. In order to achieve that, an Active Directory / LDAP Server needs to be integrated. On integrating the server and configuring HySecure appropriately, any user trying to connect to the HySecure Gateway will attempt to authenticate through the Configured Server.
In order to achieve AD / LDAP integration, following information is needed
-
Active Directory / LDAP Server IP Address / Hostname and the port on which the server is running
-
The Admin credentials which will be used to connect to the server while trying to authenticate the user
-
Other information related to attributes to be used for searching users
AD / LDAP Integration Workflow
Following are the high level steps to integrate an Active Directory Server for authenticating users.
-
Add an "AD/LDAP" type of Authentication Server needs to be added and all relevant information need to be configured.
-
Select the configured AD/LDAP server as an "Authentication Server" while creating an Authentication Domain
-
Assign the Authentication Domain to a HySecure Domain
On following the above steps, any users connecting to the configured HySecure Domain will get authenticated by the integrated AD/LDAP server.
