Application Access

Applications can be published for access, to a User or User Group by defining an "Application Access" type of Access Control. There has to be atleast 1 "Application Access" type of Access Control for a User. In its absence the user will not be able to access any application.

Configuration Workflow

This section defines the workflow for creating an "Application Access" type of Access Control.

  1. Identify the User / User group for whom the Access Control needs to be made effective. The set of users will either be

    1. part of an Authorization Server associated with an Authentication Domain which is attached to a HySecure Domain OR

    2. part of a High / Low Security native User Group OR

    3. a High / Low Security native User

  2. Ensure that the Application Group containing the applications which are to be published, is created.

  3. Create an Access Control of type "Application Access" and assign the User / User Groups and the Application Groups containing Applications which need to be published for the specified users.

Application Access Priority

Even before an Application Access based Access control policy is checked for publishing applications to the user, the endpoint device from which the user is connecting to the HySecure Gateway, is checked against the Device Profiles. If the endpoint matches a Device Profile which blocks the application, then it will take precedence and the application will not be published for the user.
