Configure SMS Gateway On Hysecure

HySecure supports sharing of passphrase, OTP etc. through SMS. In order to achieve this, the HySecure Gateway needs to be configured with an SMS Gateway which can be used to send the needed notifications, OTP etc. The configured SMS Gateway can also be tested by using the "Test" option provided on the SMS Gateway Configuration page.

Important

In order to use an SMS Gateway, an API document from the SMS Gateway Service provider should be available. The API document is expected to contain details required to configure the HySecure Gateway for the SMS Gateway Integration.

Pre-requisites

1. SMS API document should be available from the SMS Gateway Service provider

2. Response Codes for success and failure should be available

3. SMS server FQDN name should be resolvable and reachable from HySecure.

4. Some SMS gateways only allow a specific text format. Whitelist the following text if the sms gateway does not allow all text messages

   OTP is SMS_TOKEN for login into secure access gateway. Valid till EXPIRE_TIME. Do not share the OTP with anyone for security reasons.

5. SMS server FQDN should have a static IP.

6. If the SMS API url is entered in browser with all correct info, the sms should be sent successfully.

SMS Gateway Integration

The SMS Gateway can be integrated by configuring SMS Gateway Settings. This page also explains the way to deduce the settings needed from the SMS Gateway API which is provided by the service provider. Once the configuration is provided, the succesful integration can be verified by sending a test SMS as described in Test SMS Gateway Settings
