Auto Backup

HySecure supports auto generation of User backup as well as System backup and can send these to an ftp location or over an email.

To obtain the state of the auto-backup module and configure auto backup, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Management Console and expand HOST MAINTENANCE

  2. Click on Auto Backup menu

  3. The STATUS block indicates the status of the auto-backup module as Running / Stopped, as appropriate. The state can be changed by clicking button adjacent to the state.

    Warning

    Start the auto-backup module first and refresh the screen to check that it's in running status. Auto backup will not be initiated if the module is in stopped state

  4. The CONFIGURATIONS block provides configuration for the auto backup.

  5. Fill the relevant configuration and click on "Submit" button. Click on "Reset" if the entered data needs to be cleared.

Different blocks have been explained below, with description of their respective fields

User Backup

This block enables auto-backup of User Settings Only

# Field Description
1 Enable Check this option, if the backup of User Settings need to be auto-generated
2 Mode of communication Select the mode of sharing backup as either FTP or Email.
If FTP is configured, then the ftp details are picked from the settings made in the FTP Settings block
If Email is configured, then the recipient list is picked as per the configuration in the Email Settings block
3 Backup Interval (hrs) Enter the interval in hours, at which the backup needs to be generated and sent out over FTP or Email, as configured

System Backup

This block enables auto-backup of Whole System

# Field Description
1 Enable Check this option, if the backup of Whole System need to be auto-generated
2 Mode of communication Select the mode of sharing backup as either FTP or Email.
If FTP is configured, then the ftp details are picked from the settings made in the FTP Settings block
If Email is configured, then the recipient list is picked as per the configuration in the Email Settings block
3 Backup Interval (hrs) Enter the interval in hours, at which the backup needs to be generated and sent out over FTP or Email, as configured

Email Settings

The backup file can be sent over email to all administrators registered on HySecure and/or it can be sent to specific email IDs. The email recipient details are to be configured in this block.

1 Send email to all Admin users and Security Officers Check this option, if the backup needs to be sent over an email to all administrators and Security Officers configured in HySecure
2 Send email to additional users
(specify ";" separated email list)		 Enter ";" separated list of email ids to whom the auto backup needs to be sent over email

FTP Settings

The configuration backup can also be sent to an FTP site. The ftp details are to be configured in this block.

# Field Description
1 Username Enter the username which will be used to connect to the FTP server
2 Password Enter the password of the use which will be used to connect to the FTP server
3 URL Enter the url of the ftp server which needs to be connected to upload the backup file
4 FTP Mode This is currently set to "Passive" and is not editable
