Power Management using Azure Tools
Session team power management feature provides feasibility to reduce the unused resource consumption by managing power operations for managed SHD server teams based on resource access demand.
Resource cost does not matter in case of on-premise hardware setup, but it matters in case of cloud infrastructure. Every minute is chargeable in cloud infrastructure and power management feature plays a vital role in cloud to reduce cost by powering off the resources in non-working hours.
This can be achieved by setting some configuration in HyWorks side like creating capacity plan and assigning them to managed session teams and also setting some trigger/scheduler to execute those capacity plan on regular interval. Currently, we have scheduler implementation using Azure automation account.
Supported HyWorks Version
Azure managed power managed is supported with Accops HyWorks v3.3-GA+HF4 only. The implementation has been enhanced to use Accops managed power management to avoid frequent access of Azure management portal.
Please refer this section for detailed information on automatic power management using Accops services, available with v3.3-R2.
