Multi-site Configuration

Multi-site configuration can be done once all the sites that going to be part of the Management cluster are added.

Create Management Cluster

Only a single site plays the role of the Management Cluster while the remaining sites play the role of participants.

  1. Log on to the Management console.
  2. Go to Sites > Site and click Add and add a site that is going to play a role of Management cluster. This site will be displayed as 'local_site_'
  3. Add all the sites that are going to play the role of Participants.
  4. The moment you add sites, they will be displayed on Sites as well as Multi-sites details page.
  5. Go to Sites > Multi-Site > Multi-site Details page.
  6. Select the sites and click Enable Sync. This enables synchronization for the participant sites.
  7. To enable the passwordless ssh communication between the Management cluster and the Participant sites, download the Management cluster's token key. Connection key is 1kb file with token key in encrypted format.
  8. Save the token key.
  9. Log on to the participant site and upload the token key.
  10. Repeat step 6 for all the paticipant sites.
  11. Log on to the Management cluster once again.
  12. Go to Sites > Multi-Site > Multi-site Details page. The connection token creates the passwordless ssh connection for communication between management cluster and participant sites. All the sites are in the green color if the passwordless connection is successful.
  13. Go to Sites > Multi-Site > Entities page. It lists all the entities that can be synced between Management cluster and particiant sites. Select all the entities that are to be synced and click Add.
