Terminologies

1. Enrolment, Approval

   User registration to the biometric system is termed enrolment. There are different ways to register.

   User authorization to use the biometric server’s services is an approval; there are various ways to approve or authorize users to use the biometric services.

2. Enroller

   Enrollers are users who can enroll or capture different users’ biometric details into the system; it is defined according to the roles assigned by their admin (ABS Admin).

3. Approver

   Approver/s are the set of users who can approve or authorize enrolled users to use ABS; it is defined according to the roles assigned by their admin (ABS Admin).

4. Capture/Capture Policy

   Capture is the act of scanning a user's biometric data.

   A Capture Policy is a set of rules that define which users can capture the biometric details of unenrolled users and enroll them into the system.

   Enrollers are the authorized personnel to enroll other users.

5. Approve/Approval Policy

   Approve grants permission to an enrolled user to use a biometric service.

   An Approval Policy defines which user can authorize enrolled users to use their biometric details.

   Approvers are those who can approve the enrolled users.
