About Upgrading HySecure Cluster
Upgrade the following to upgrade the HySecure cluster:
- HySecure Standby Cluster Manager Node.
- Dedicated HySecure Gateway Node First.
- HySecure Active Cluster Manager Node.
Points to be considered before upgrading:
It is recommended to keep a downtime of 30 minutes per gateway node in the cluster. If there are 3 nodes, it is recommended to consider 1.5 hours of downtime.
Scenario | Details | Solution |
---|---|---|
Upgrade HySecure Standby Node | Cluster status is unaffected. This load will be disrupted if the HySecure gateway is active on this node. Other gateway nodes share the load in the cluster |
Users active connection to the HySecure Gateway node will be disconnected. Users do not have to re-authenticate. |
Upgrading Dedicated HySecure Gateway Node | The load on the HySecure Gateway node is disrupted. Load is shared by other Gateway nodes in the cluster. Cluster status is unaffected | Users active connection to this HySecure Gateway node will be disconnected. Users do not have to re-authenticate. |
Upgrade HySecure Active Node | Cluster failover will happen. A temporary delay in routing connection from current active to standby. The Standby node will become Active. This load will be disrupted if the HySecure gateway is active on this node. Other gateway nodes share the load in the cluster. |
Users active connection to this HySecure Gateway node will be disconnected. New user sessions while the standby is being upgraded, will become invalid and such users must re-login. Any configuration changes done on the HySecure Active node will not be preserved and will be lost. |
