Features and Enhancements in HyWorks v3.4-SP1 Hotfix1 Release

HyLabs Enhancements and Features

Integration of Co-Conv Hotate PC Management Solution as connector

With HyWorks v3.4-SP1-Hotfix1, support for HyLabs reservation based delivery is extended to Co-Conv Hotate PC Management Solution (Shortname Hotate).

  • Hotate can be added into HyWorks as a connector and then can be used in HyLabs to deliver reservation based VDIs to end-users.

Note

Personal Desktop or provisioned shared hosted desktop delivery via HyWorks using Hotate is not supported.

Extending non-persistent support for HyLabs reservations

HyWorks v3.4-SP1-Hotfix1 will have support for non-persistent reservations. The feature will make sure that reserved VMs are getting revered back to fresh state on reservation end or user logout.

Conditions:

  1. On reservation end for each schedule.

  2. On user logout:

    1. If the Custom Deployment is set to Power Off VM on User Logout.

    2. Reservation type is temporary and

      • Flag in Advance Settings Remove HyLabs temporary assignment on logout is set as true

      • Option Enable VM retention option after logoff is selected in Default reservation Settings and while logging out user opts to not to retain the assignment.

Configurable horizontal HyLabs portal for better user experience in LMS systems

HyLabs with vertical menu layout was not giving good user experience as LMS systems were also following the vertical menu layouts and thus now with this release, administrator will be able to configure if HyLabs should use horizontal or vertical menu layout.

  • Add following keys in management console web.config file to enable this feature

    • OverrideHylabsMenuLayoutToHorizontal: Set as true to enable horizontal menu layout. Keep as false for vertical menu layout.

    • SupportedRolesToChangeHyLabsMenuLayout: If horizontal menu layout is enabled, then what roles should use the horizontal menu layout. E.g. participant, incharge, assistant, hylabsadmin.

How to configure:

  1. Locate Management Console web.config file and add following keys:

    • `<add key="OverrideHylabsMenuLayoutToHorizontal" value="true" />

    • `<add key="SupportedRolesToChangeHyLabsMenuLayout" value="participant, assistant, incharge, hylabsadmin" />

HyWorks Changes

OU/AD path is mandatory for Sysprep based customization in HyWorks

In current version, when administrator will choose sysprep as customization method, then AD Path filed will be mandatory.

This will be further enhanced in upcoming release, where administrator will have option to set default customization methods in HyWorks Advanced Settings.

HyWorks Session Host and DVM Tools Changes

New session host v3.4.0.16504 and DVM Tools for Windows v3.4.0.575 are released under the 3.4-SP1-Hotfix1 release with some bug-fixes. Please refer document 3.4-SP1-HF1 Bug fixes for details of issues fixed in these modules.
