How To Enable HyShell/Desktop Customization

Supported Versions

Supported from HyWorks controller 3.1 onwards.

1. On 3.1 controller, Patch is required on controller side. Registry entry required on Session host (3.1 )side.

2. On 3.2 GA onwards, no patch required on controller side. Registry entry required on Session host (3.2GA ) side.

3. Make sure the controller and session host versions are the same.

Desktop Customization/HyShell Procedure

The desktop customization can be enabled using below process:

Steps To Be Followed On Session Host Server:

1. Run the latest session host server setup and install/Upgrade Session Host Server module

   Note

   Restart will be required due to HyWorks Session Server Extensions

2. On Session Host Server, open Registry Editor and create a String type registry entry ISDESKTOPCUSTOMIZATIONENABLED at following location

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Accops\Controller\EDC\SESSIONHOST

3. Set the value of the registry to true

   

4. Restart the Session Host Service.

Steps To Be Followed On HyWorks Controller:

Publish some apps on HyWorks for the user with access settings selected "On Shared Hosted Desktop" :

When user logs-in into HyWorks Client and access SHD -> Desktop Customization should work
