Disconnected Status for Dedicated Desktop Sessions

HyWorks now detects and reports a Disconnected status for single-session desktop sessions. This provides administrators and end users with accurate, real-time visibility into session state from the HyWorks Controller Management Console. In earlier versions, HyWorks removed single-session desktop sessions after receiving dismissal notifications from the endpoint or the agent.

Requirement: This enhancement requires the following compatible module versions:

  • Controller v4.1-HF2.1 or later.

  • VM Scale Booster v4.1.0.185 or later.

    • Dedicated desktops managed via VM Scale Booster

  • DVM Tools v4.1.0.1511 or later to report Disconnected status correctly.

Important

Compatible Windows DVM Tools for single-session desktops will be released soon.

Linux-based single-session desktops are not currently supported. Compatibility will be added soon.

VM Scale Booster Release v4.1.0.185

This VM Scale Booster release supports single-session desktop management. The latest desktop agent shares the session status via the VM Scale Booster to update session states in HyWorks.

  • Controller v4.1-HF2.1 or later.

Nutanix Utility

With HyWorks v4.1-HF2.1, Nutanix Utility has been released. The utility will help move to the latest Nutanix API implementation if any existing deployments use legacy APIs.

The core features of the Nutanix Utility are:

  • Listing out the desktop pools requiring migration.

  • Actual Migration of Non-persistent Desktop Pools or Desktop Pools using the Clone from Snapshot feature.

    • Create a Recovery Point for each Snapshot and update references in HyWorks.
