Manual Backup

To take a database backup manually, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Backup and Restore

  2. Click Backup Now to initiate the HyWorks Controller database backup.

  3. HyWorks Controller will immediately create a backup file, and the backup operation status will be displayed.

  4. The backup file is saved locally on the HyWorks controller in a zipped format with an appropriate timestamp. The detailed information about the backup file can be found in the controller logs.

    a. Database configured with SQL Server Authentication (HyWorks Controller and SQL Server installed on the same server):

    Location of Database Backup: C:\Windows\Temp\DB\Backup\

    b. Database configured with Windows Authentication (HyWorks Controller and SQL Server installed on different servers): Location of Database Backup:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Backup
