Features and Enhancements in HyWorks v4.0 Hotfix1

Feature Integration

The following new features and enhancements are integrated in HyWorks v4.0 Hotfix1.

Extended Advanced Feature Support with SCVMM Connector

HyWorks v4.0 HF1 delivers a major enhancement to the SCVMM connector by enabling advanced feature support that was previously limited in earlier releases and was available with other connectors, such as VMware and Nutanix.

This update significantly improves feature parity and operational capabilities for SCVMM environments.

Key Highlights:

  • Graceful Recompose with selective recompose and image version transition

  • Capacity Planning with automated scaling and power management (single-session and multi-session)

  • Scheduled Actions with one-time and recurring schedule support

These enhancements improve automation, lifecycle control, and resource optimization for SCVMM deployments.

Note

These features are available only for SCVMM and have not yet been extended to Hyper-V.

[Experimental] Option in Connection Profile to use Session Launcher as Photon (Accops Optimized Session Launcher)

Photon is an optimized session launcher designed to address multiple issues and performance limitations in existing remote session launchers, such as built-in/legacy (MSTSC/MSRDC).

  • It can be enabled from: HyWorks Controller Management Console > Policies > Connection profile > Access Settings > Window Client Session Launcher Option > PHOTON.

Photon is under active development and has not yet been released, but this patch adds the option for the client to use Photon.

Important

Do not use this option unless compatible endpoints and client apps are available. The feature is enabled to support active development and alpha-beta testing.
