How To Enable HyShell/Desktop Customization
Supported Versions
Supported from HyWorks controller 3.1 onwards.

On the 3.1 controller, a patch is required on the controller side. Registry entry required on the Session host (3.1) side.

On 3.2 GA onwards, no patch is required on the controller side. Registry entry required on the Session host (3.2GA) side.

Make sure the controller and session host versions match.
Desktop Customization/HyShell Procedure
The desktop customization can be enabled using the following:
Steps To Be Followed On Session Host Server:
Follow the steps in the document Session Host Server HyShell Configuration in the HyShell section.

Login and Verification
A user logging in and connecting to the shared hosted desktop will see a custom loader on the desktop, indicating that desktop customization is in progress.
This customization will create HyShell-enabled virtual apps shortcuts on the desktop. For this HyShell to work correctly, the following conditions must be true:

The user must have an assignment of both:
- virtual apps published for the shared hosted desktop.

The Virtual App is published, and shortcut creation is enabled on the shared hosted desktop's desktop and Start menu.

The virtual app is installed and published from the shared hosted desktop that the user is currently accessing.
