Limitation
Limitations of the Current macOS Client Release
-
Controller Compatibility: Workspace Client for macOS is supported with HyWorks Controller release 3.2 or later. Registration to any previous controller will not work. for installing the Mac client in Legacy mode to work in compatibility mode for older versions.
-
Automated SSO Support (Windows App): The Windows app does not have native SSO support. The client attempts automated sign-on, but if it fails, users must log in manually by providing credentials to the Session Launch prompt.
Note
The limitation of Single Sign-On (SSO) applies only to the Windows app.
-
Limitation on performance of multiple remote apps: When a selected protocol is Native/Legacy, then the application's performance will degrade upon launching multiple apps.
-
No Audio, microphone, and webcam Support with Legacy and Native protocol: Remote Audio with Legacy/ Native protocol will not work on Apps, SHD, and VDI, even when enabled from the connection profile. Audio and microphone can be used through the Windows App only.
-
File Redirection: macOS clients do not support file transfer because session server extensions are not available for macOS.
-
USB Redirection: None of the USB Redirection Drivers (i.e., Built-in or Enhanced) are supported with the currently released macOS Client.
-
Multimonitor Support: Session expansion over multiple monitors is not supported with Legacy and Native protocols. It supports only Windows apps.
-
Session Server Extensions are not supported: HyWorks File Transfer or HyWorks HyPrint PDF Printing is not supported with Workspace Client on macOS.
-
Connection Attributes: Not all connection profile parameters work and may cause session failure, and thus should be correctly configured. for analyzing connection failures due to connection command lines
-
Session Reconnections across different types of Endpoints: Cross-platform session reconnection does not work, which means:
- SHD or app session initiated from Workspace Clients on Windows or Linux may not work correctly when reconnected from Workspace Clients on macOS and vice versa.
-
Native Protocol: This protocol supports the launching of SHD/VDI only.
- The following are the limitations of the Native protocol:
- No support for HyWorks Remote/Shell App.
- No minimize option when the VDI/SHD session is changed to full screen.
- When the SHD/VDI is minimized, subsequent launches of the SHD/VDI will also be minimized.
- SHD/VDI launching fails when video redirection is enabled from the connection profile.
- The following are the limitations of the Native protocol:
