Configure DNS & SSL for HySecure

Overview

DNS configuration for HySecure is completed during the preboot wizard when the appliance is first booted. After preboot, the primary task here is applying a valid SSL certificate.


Step 1 — DNS configuration (done during preboot)

Follow the preboot guide to set the gateway hostname, FQDN, and network settings.

Step 2 — Generate a CSR (if no certificate exists yet)

Generate a Certificate Signing Request directly from the HySecure management console.

Step 3 — Apply the SSL certificate

Upload the signed certificate (PEM or PFX) to the gateway.

Step 4 — Configure network settings (optional)

Adjust NIC settings or add hosts-file entries post-installation if needed.

Warning

Ensure DNS resolves the FQDN to the correct WAN IP before applying the SSL certificate.
