Key terms used throughout the Accops Self-Configuration Portal.

Term Definition
ACL Access Control List — a rule set in HySecure that maps users/groups to resources under defined conditions (EPS result, time, location)
ADCS Active Directory Certificate Services — Microsoft PKI used to issue device certificates integrated with HySecure
Connection Profile HyWorks configuration object that defines protocol settings (display, audio, clipboard, drive mapping) for a client type
DVM Tools Desktop and Virtual Machine Tools — Accops agent installed on Session Host Servers and VDI master images; required for HyWorks management
EPS Policy Endpoint Protection System policy — enforces device posture checks (domain join, AV, OS patch, IP, MAC) before granting access
Entitlement HyWorks assignment that grants a user or AD group access to a specific desktop pool
FQDN Fully Qualified Domain Name — the public DNS name of the HySecure gateway (e.g., workspace.company.com)
HA Cluster High Availability Cluster — multiple HySecure nodes operating together for failover
HyID Accops identity and MFA engine — built into HySecure; also available as a standalone product
HyLite The end-user web portal served by HySecure where users authenticate and launch resources
HySecure Accops Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) gateway
HyWorks Accops VDI/SHD broker that manages desktop pools and session delivery
Link Clone VDI provisioning method where new desktops share a base disk with the master image, saving storage
Master Image A fully configured VM used as the template for cloning VDI desktops
MFA Multi-Factor Authentication — additional verification beyond password (TOTP, SMS OTP, push notification, PC token)
Non-Persistent VDI Desktop pool where each user gets a fresh clone on login; changes are discarded on logout
Persistent VDI Desktop pool where each user is permanently assigned a desktop and changes are retained
Recompose HyWorks operation that rebuilds dynamic VDI pool desktops from an updated master image
SHD Shared Hosted Desktop — Windows Server session host where multiple users share the OS, each in an isolated session
SAML SSO Security Assertion Markup Language Single Sign-On — federated identity for HySecure portal
Session Team HyWorks grouping of multiple SHD servers for load balancing
SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol — email server connection used for alerts and notifications
Syslog Industry-standard log forwarding protocol; HySecure and HyWorks both support sending logs to a SIEM
TOTP Time-based One-Time Password — the MFA method used by the HyID mobile token and standard authenticator apps
VDI Virtual Desktop Infrastructure — personal virtual machine desktops delivered to end users
VIP Virtual IP — a per-session IP address assigned to SHD server connections; required for applications that need a unique source IP
ZTNA Zero-Trust Network Access — security model where no user or device is trusted by default; every access request is verified
