Migration Advisory¶
Migrating from another VDI solution¶
Organisations replacing an existing Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Microsoft RDS deployment with Accops Workspace should plan the migration in phases:

| 1 — Assessment | Inventory existing pools, application assignments, user groups, and connection profiles |
| 2 — Parallel deployment | Stand up Accops alongside the existing solution; do not decommission yet |
| 3 — Pilot migration | Move a pilot group (10–20 users) to Accops; run both systems in parallel |
| 4 — Wave migration | Migrate remaining users in waves, prioritising low-risk groups first |
| 5 — Decommission | Power down old infrastructure only after all users are validated on Accops |
Key considerations¶
Master Image: Build a fresh master image rather than converting existing VM templates. Convert the Gold Image using HyWorks DVM Tools rather than reusing the old broker's sysprep image.
Profiles: If users have roaming profiles, continue using the same profile share — HyWorks connects to the same Windows profile store.
Applications: Applications installed on the old SHD/RDS servers must be reinstalled on the new HyWorks Session Host Servers. Use the same application deployment process (GPO/SCCM/Intune) as the previous environment.
Network: HySecure replaces the VPN or SSL gateway. Decommission the old gateway only after the HySecure pilot is stable.
Export/Import configuration
HyWorks supports configuration export — useful for replicating a working setup to a new controller node during migration.
