View License Usage

Dashboard

The Management Console -- Dashboard displays a summary of the license usage for the currently selected organization, including:

  • Licensing Type: Default, Evaluation or Perpetual

  • Overall License Usage: Used versus Available Licenses in a chart form

  • Number of days to expire

License (In the System)

The Management Console > System > License screen displays all the information about licensing.

  • Super-administrator View: The Super-administrator in HyWorks, can view:

    • Overall license usage of HyWorks (all organizations)

    • Current Organization License Usage

    Refer to the License Allocations/Sharing in Multi-Organization Structure section for details.

  • View for other Administrator users:

    • License usage in the current organization

Note

Any user that does not have Super-administrator credentials will not be shown the system level license usage.

Freeing Licenses

Administrators can free up licenses from different screens based on the type of licenses in use.

Registered Devices

  • As mentioned in the Endpoint Management in HyWorks section, after registration, all the devices are listed on the Monitoring > Endpoints screen.

  • Registered devices do not get deleted automatically. Once an endpoint is registered with the Controller, it consumes one license.

  • To free up licenses the Administrator can manually delete offline or online endpoints from the Monitoring > Endpoints screen. Steps to delete endpoints are provided in the Endpoint Management in HyWorks section.

  • Automatic deletion of inactive devices: The HyWorks Controller has a default policy to delete endpoints which have been inactive for a pre-defined duration. By default, this value is 30 days and can be modified from the Management Console -> System -> Advanced Config -> Device life span. To keep devices registered forever, set this value to zero.

Named User Licenses

  • Every user gets registered in HyWorks after their successful login for the first time and consumes one license if HyWorks is installed with the Named User licenses.
  • The registered users can be seen in the Monitoring > User > Details section.
  • HyWorks does not delete any registered users. If the Administrator wants to free-up any licenses, then users must be deleted manually from the Monitoring > User Details section. The steps to delete Named Users are provided in the Registered User Management in HyWorks section.
  • Automatic deletion of inactive users: The HyWorks Controller has a default policy to delete registered users which that have been inactive for a pre-defined duration. By default, this value is 30 days and can be modified from the Management Console > System > Advanced Config > User life span. To keep users registered forever, set this value to zero.

Concurrent Sessions

  • Upon configuration with Concurrent Session based licenses, HyWorks uses one license for every user session. This license consumption is not dependent on applications or desktop sessions by the end-users.

  • One license will be consumed when a user is logged in and will be freed up automatically when the user logs out from HyWorks.

  • If the Administrator needs to free up licenses, user sessions can be deleted from the Monitoring > Sessions > User Sessions.
