Step 2 — Deploy to End Systems¶
With the CMS server prepared (files uploaded, group created, runbook configured), the CMS agent can now be installed on each target client machine. Once installed and registered, the device receives its group assignment and software deployment begins automatically.
Configuration scope¶
| Sub-step | Configuration scope | Key components |
|---|---|---|
| Install the CMS Agent | Log in to the client machine, locate the CMS agent setup, and run the installation command | CMS Agent, Command Prompt |
| Register and Assign the Device | Verify device registration on the CMS portal, check group assignment status, and assign the device to a group | Devices tab, Groups |
| Verify Deployment | Confirm that software has been automatically pushed and installed; restart the system to complete the process | Control Panel, Programs and Features |
Prerequisites
Step 1 — Prepare CMS Server must be completed before beginning this step. The target group and runbook must exist on the CMS server before a device is assigned.
